3 Words That Tell A Whole Story

Did you know you can tell a whole story with just three words? Three words! No matter how you look at it…whether planned, anticipated, unwanted or hoped for, these words will change your life FOREVER. And these three words can bring a gamut of emotions - excitement, relief, fear, regret, love, sadness, anger, joy…

What are these three words?

TWO PINK LINES.

Enough said? Not quite.

There are many women who have dreaded those two pink lines and have had two choices – they make their story end as quickly as possible or they make the best of it. These are the ones who experience the regret, fear and anger. If they decided to make the best of it, I pray they have experienced the love, joy and excitement that comes with the rest of the story!

Then there are those women who come to expect to see those two pink lines as they begin to prepare for their, like what? 10th kid? (I’m not bitter! Just a little sarcastic.)

But I’m not going to talk about those stories today.

You see, there are millions of women who month, after month, after month hope to see those two pink lines, but month after month, we only see one. And sometimes, those months turn into years. We keep the pregnancy test industry in business, am I right?

Every time we think it’s a possibility, we spend $15 +tax on the pregnancy test kit with the bonus 2 tests for the price of 1, of course! After all, they are the best deal and sometimes there can be false negatives, right? We get home and right away hide it from our husband (because we want to surprise him when we finally see those two pink lines). The next morning, we awake before anyone else, open up the box, read the instructions that we probably have memorized, but we want to make sure we get it right, even though we are at expert test-taking status by now! We follow the instructions to a ‘t’ and then we wait, all the while hoping and praying that the second line will appear. Then doubt creeps in because we don’t want to set ourselves up for disappointment, but you squash that doubt right back down because you must keep the faith and you pray so hard again!

Wait, is there a faint second pink line? No…well, maybe I did it wrong. Maybe I didn’t wait long enough. Well, I’ll just wait another week and take the second test.

Been there? It’s ok. You can sigh with me.

It sucks. It’s ok to wallow for just a minute…

Ok. Chin up! You’re not alone! I’m here for you!

Remember, that single line you just saw, it doesn’t tell your whole story. It’s just a part of your unfinished story!

You have been given a momma’s heart! Don’t allow the lack of a second pink line to squash your hopes and desires!

Abba delights in you and wants to give you the desires of your hearts!

I love the Passion version of Psalm 37:4-5.

Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life,

and he will provide for you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly!

Spend a little extra time today to take delight in the Lord. Talk to Him. Share your heart. Share your burdens. Cry to Him, laugh with Him, sing to Him, quiet yourself and allow

Him to sing over you!

Because, as always,

He loves you so incredibly much!

You WILL see those two pink lines!
